Tesla Inc’s new Cyberquad ATV, designed for kids, is back on the market and officially sold as a “toy.”
The Cyberquad was released in 2019 to considerable fanfare, with a promise from Tesla CEO Elon Musk to make the vehicle into a “real ATV,” instead of just another electric kids’ ride-on. As part of that plan, Tesla initially received approval to register the Cyberquad as a “motor vehicle” with the DMV, which would have made it road-ready.
Subsequently, however, the California DMV denied Tesla’s request to register the Cyberquad as a street-legal vehicle because it did not meet the necessary requirements. As a result, Tesla had to temporarily pull the Cyberquad from the market.
Now, Tesla says that the Cyberquad is back and that it is officially offered as a “toy.” According to the company, the Cyberquad was designed with riders ages 6 and up in mind and comes with a key-operated power cut-off switch on the handlebar to ensure safety. It is powered by a 12 v 60 aH lithium-ion battery, providing a range of up to 10 miles.
This is welcome news to Tesla devotees, who have eagerly awaited the return of the Cyberquad. With its impressive speed and its promise of off-roading fun, the Cyberquad is sure to be a hit among kids who are looking for a way to have an outdoor adventure. In addition, its relatively low price tag of just $499 makes it a great option for parents who want to give their children the electric vehicle experience without breaking the bank.
For those who have long wanted to bring a little bit of Tesla’s signature style and skill to the pilgrimage, the Cyberquad is the perfect option. Let the good times roll!
